Another update - February 5, 2009

Hi all, here is the latest...

Rachael is now somewhat mobile and is able to move around the room. We do not know if she will be released tomorrow or not. We are hoping to stay at least one more full day so we can stay close to Mia. I guess we will find out more tomorrow.

Mia has been steadily improving today. We haven't gotten to talk with any of the doctors since this morning, because they make their rounds when available. The neurologist some times works some odd hours so we just have to be patient to talk with him. I'm hoping to get some sort of an update tomorrow.

On some good news they have been able to lower the amount of oxygen given to her. She is now on 78% oxygen and they are lowering it about two percent each half hour. Her blood oxygen level has continued to stay at 100% so we are happy with that. If this rate continues then she might be able to breath on her own tomorrow night or the day after. Its obviousley up to the doctors if they will do that though. We do know that they want to take an MRI and it will be easiest to do it without the breathing tube.

Rachael and I want to thank everyone for your continous prayers and support. We also want to thank my co-workers at the 59th and the 422 squadrons for the flowers. I also want to thank my new co-workers at Det 4 TMG for the card and the gift. Also Chaplin Suh for stopping by and praying with us. Also to Amber, Chip, Ari, Lisa, Krystal, Karyn, Shannon for stopping by and encouraging us. We have been so blessed to have all of you keeping us in prayer.

I have finally been able to attach some somewhat high resolution pictures thanks to Krystal Ruiz. These pictures should be much better than previous images.
