Today's Ultrasound - November 13, 2008

Hello again,

The ultrasound went well this morning. It was, of course, great to see my baby again and was caught by surprise when the tech showed us the baby in 3D!! I started crying because my baby is just so beautiful!! We were able to get some 3D pictures to take home, which was a nice surprise! =)

After waiting for a while after the ultrasound, we saw the doctor and he says that there is, in fact, excessive fluid in our baby girl's brain. He says the
high end of the normal range is 10. She measured at 12.1. When babies reach 15, then they are diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, so he says right now it's borderline - it can go either way throughout the remainder of the pregnancy. He wants to keep on eye on her, so I will be going back in 2 weeks to see if it has increased in volume; is the same; or has drained at all. I will most likely be getting ultrasounds done frequently until delivery and will probably have the baby there at the off base hospital. It's a Children's hospital, so if anything should be "wrong" with the baby, she will get great care. If I were to deliver on base, they would have to send her to a different hospital anyway, so we'd all rather that we stay in the same place together!

That's all we know for know... it's just borderline at the moment... so now we all know how to pray!!

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and prayers. It is so comforting to know there are other believers praying for my precious baby with us!!

Much love,
Rachael, Robert, Mercedes and Baby Stewie <3
Enjoy the pictures! We don't have a scanner, so I quickly took pictures of the pictures, so excuse the fact that they aren't perfect... and are very crooked!!
